Ian completed his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Winnipeg and Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Education at the University of Manitoba. He graduated with his Masters of Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Calgary in 2005 where he specialized in psychoeducational and psychological assessment. Since then, his work has involved providing assessment and consultation services around the learning needs of students from pre-school through post-secondary in both private practice and public school settings, and supervising interns as a Clinical Adjunct Instructor at the University of Calgary.

Ian’s focus is on assessments for the purpose of informing treatment plans within the context of primary, secondary, and college/university settings and the promotion of positive learning environments for those with neurodiversities. His expertise includes working with people who have learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia); ADHD; intellectual giftedness; developmental disabilities; and various presenting mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression.

He is experienced in providing recommendations on teaching techniques, classroom accommodations and modifications, and opportunities specific to a client’s learning profile.

When not working, Ian is an aspiring painter and photographer. He has an affinity for plants, coffee, small dogs, and mid-century modern design.
